"I don't know."

     "Are you going to faint on me again?"

     "What is happening?" She managed to ask.

     "Something I shouldn't be, Alberta Rose O'Neill." His answer was husky as he reached up to unclasp her top button.  "And something I don't feel like stopping."

     Dale could hear the shock in her voice.  Reality seeped in.  He had nearly seduced Conn's daughter.  He was losing his touch. He had never lost control like this before.

    So she hated Frenchmen did she?  He wondered if she would like his native half any better.  In one breath she made him laugh and in the next he wanted to  strangle her.  Was she really so naive - and so arrogant?

     "Then why are you taking me?" Bobbie's thoughts were mass confusion.

     Why was he being so pleasant? She'd tricked him into being her guide. If she moved one-tenth of an inch their lips would touch.  

     "I'll take you to hell and back if you ask nicely, mignonne."  He pressed his lips to hers in a quick hard kiss.

"Thank you"
